How much does a hole in concrete cost?
Diamond drilling in Latvia is €0.30–5.00 per centimetre of depth, by diameter and material. A typical air-conditioning hole, Ø102–112 mm through 30 cm of reinforced concrete, is €16.50 on the list — then the €60 minimum order applies (excl. 21% VAT). We confirm a fixed price after a free site visit.
Six typical jobs — worked from the list
These are six illustrative examples from this rate card, not named jobs. Each one states the work, the size, the material, the arithmetic, the total and the VAT note. If the sum is below the minimum, we charge the minimum — that is the call-out and set-up, not a mark-up.
Air-conditioning hole. Ø102–112 mm, 30 cm reinforced-concrete wall, one hole. Rate €0.55/cm × 30 cm = €16.50. Below the €60 threshold, so the invoice is the €60 minimum (excl. 21% VAT). See also core drilling for air conditioning.
Sewer penetration through a foundation. Ø152–162 mm, 50 cm depth in reinforced concrete. €0.65/cm × 50 cm = €32.50 → €60 minimum (excl. 21% VAT). More on foundation holes for sewerage.
Lift opening. A 1000 × 2200 mm opening in a 25 cm reinforced-concrete wall, four sides: 6.4 m. Sawing rate €34/m × 6.4 m = €217.60 (excl. 21% VAT) — above the €70 sawing minimum. Full sawing price list.
One metre of chasing in concrete. List price €6.00. Below the €60 threshold, so the €60 minimum applies (excl. 21% VAT). Wall-chasing prices.
Door opening. 900 × 2100 mm, 20 cm reinforced-concrete wall, three sides (two jambs + lintel): 5.1 m. €30/m × 5.1 m = €153.00 (excl. 21% VAT). The service page: door and window openings.
Core sample. Ø102–112 mm, 15 cm depth in reinforced concrete. €0.55/cm × 15 cm = €8.25 → €60 minimum (excl. 21% VAT). Core sampling.
What changes the diamond drilling price?
The table shows material and diameter. On site, access, reinforcement and distance move the figure up or down. That is why the calculator is an indication, and the fixed quote comes after a visit.
- Material — brick costs less than reinforced concrete; granite and very dense rebar are by agreement.
- Reinforcement — denser steel slows the drill and wears the crown faster.
- Access — tight stairwells, working height, water run-off, occupied flats.
- Depth and thickness — drilling is priced per centimetre of depth; sawing per metre against a thickness band.
- Distance from Riga — €0.40/km outside the city. The call-out in Riga is free.
Why the €60 and €70 minimums?
The minimum order is €60 for diamond drilling and €70 for sawing (both excl. 21% VAT). One small hole still needs a call-out, equipment set-up, water and a clean-up. Sawing kit is heavier, so that threshold is €10 higher.
Several holes or a longer cut usually take the arithmetic above the minimum — then we charge from the table.
How to read this rate card (September 2026)
These are list rates, excluding 21% VAT, current as of September 2026. They are not a sale and not a hidden “from” price — they are what the drilling calculator uses and what you see in the table. The final quote can differ if access or reinforcement is not the list-rate assumption.

Frequently asked questions
How much does an air-conditioning hole in concrete cost?
A Ø102–112 mm hole through 30 cm of reinforced concrete is €0.55/cm × 30 cm = €16.50 on the list. Because that is below the minimum, the invoice is €60 (excl. 21% VAT). We confirm the exact price after a visit.
How much does a sewer hole through a foundation cost?
Ø152–162 mm, 50 cm depth in reinforced concrete: €0.65/cm × 50 cm = €32.50 on the list, so the €60 minimum applies (excl. 21% VAT). Several holes are priced from the table.
Why does a small hole cost €60?
The €60 minimum (excl. 21% VAT) covers the call-out, set-up and clean-up. One Ø110 mm hole in a flat is still a visit with a drill rig — that is why the threshold exists.
Do diamond drilling prices include VAT?
No. Every list rate excludes 21% VAT. That includes the €60 minimum and travel at €0.40/km.
How much is travel outside Riga?
Travel outside Riga is €0.40/km (excl. 21% VAT). The call-out in Riga is free. We confirm a fixed quote after a visit — call 22352039.
